To say that one is better than the other is difficult but I would have to choose Stephen King. His writing is more visible, the reader is not required to create his own picture of the characters but rather Stephen develops them clearly for the reader through identifying their relationships with each other. Stephen's books keep us guessing about what will come next which is where we find the suspense we are craving and well you can't find a better book then "Carrie."
